On Sunday 14th July this year the 105th running of Dungarvan Agricultural Show will take place in Ballygagin, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford by kind permission of the Broderick, Queally and Whelan families.
Plans are well underway for the 2024 show. This year the Show will host a tented village area which will include the Home Industries Tent which will feature an array of Flowers, Vegetables, Homemade Cakes and Pastries, Arts and Crafts and Photography exhibits. The county Waterford Federation of the ICA will also have their usual display.
Returning for the second year is the popular Artisan marquee where you will find local Artisan producers displaying and selling their products. This year we are delighted to include a Wellness marquee where talks and demonstrations on Nutrition, Healthy Lifestyle options etc. will take place. Add to all this, the vibrant and popular Country Markets stand and this will be a very busy area indeed.
The more traditional elements of the Show will also take place. There will be classes for Horses, Cattle and Sheep and, of course, the all important Dog Show which is one of the most popular events on the day. Dungarvan Show has always been renowned for its Showjumping events and this year will be no different as all levels will be catered for.
Trade Stands make up an important element of the Show and visitors love to browse through them. The committee are planning a Food Plaza this year where all the food outlets will be in one place. Seating will be provided and you can enjoy a spot of Line Dancing as you eat!
Special attractions this year will include a Vintage Car and Farm machinery display as well as a Tractor Pulling event which has proved to be very popular over the last few years.
Remember Sunday July 14th in Ballygagin. Hopefully the ghosts of the 1917 Committee will be happy to see the traditional Show continue!
